Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Develop a strong understanding of the Management Accounts process. Be able to understand the implications of your tasks to the P+L and balance sheet.
- Preparation of commentary that adds value and supplement the
- Management Accounts, and present to Directors.
- Business partner with department directors in budget and forecasting.
- Maintain accurate reconciliations for P+L and Balance Sheet balances. Provide detail behind all workings.
- Present work in a professional manner and in a way that evokes confidence from other users.
- Offer suggestions for improvements to the Management Accounts Process.
- Create, enhance, and maintain working relationships with other departments.

- Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
- Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others. Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
- Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.

The Apprenticeship standard details the essential Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that somebody would need to demonstrate to be successful in this job role, this includes, Business Awareness, Ethics, Communication, Leadership, Planning and Prioritisation and Problem Solving. Apprentices will need to show they are competent in all the areas detailed in the standard when they take End Point Assessment.
The Knowledge areas of the standard will typically be covered through completion of the qualification. Skills and Behaviours are developed through workshops, e-learning, workplace training and practical experience provided ‘on-the-job’.

Please note this role is hybrid with 3 days in office and two days at home. 25 days holiday plus 9 bank holidays (34 in total) 3% pension. Bike to work scheme. Simply health scheme. Bicycle and motorcycle parking available.
