Summary

You will support our cybersecurity operations by monitoring networks for potential threats, assisting in vulnerability assessments, & helping to implement security measures. You'll work with security tools, incident response procedures, & risk management practices while working alongside experienced professionals.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Your duties will include:

  • When you’re not studying, you’ll take on tasks including supporting Cyber and Information Security activities, architectural reviews of proposed changes to our IT environment, and maintaining and developing awareness of current information security technology and threats, to help protect our IT systems
  • As you progress through your apprenticeship, you’ll gain knowledge and experience and take on more responsibility, such as: security architecture, vulnerability scans and / or risk assessments, representing the Security Team at forums and events, and be responsible for particular policies, standards and other documents

  • Able to demonstrate a ‘security mind-set’ (how to break as well as make).

Your training plan

Cyber Security Technical Professional Integrated Degree Level 6. Workplace assessment and college block delivery (average 1 week per month).

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements

Applicants must hold 3 A Levels/ Level 3 qualification in Maths and 2 relevant stem / computer subjects equivalent to 112 UCAS points. Applicants must be able to travel within the UK.
