Summary

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor Apprentice to join our dynamic Area 12 team. You will assist in the supervision of highway construction and maintenance activities.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in the supervision of highway construction and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying any issues or delays.
  • Support the preparation of site documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
  • Participate in site meetings and contribute to project planning and scheduling.
  • Learn and apply best practices in highway construction and maintenance.

Course contents
  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Your training plan

As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a nationally recognised Level-4 Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship Standard via our training partner, Learning Skills Partnership. Your Apprenticeship typically takes 21 months to complete. One-day each week will be dedicated entirely to lectures and studying for your apprenticeship qualification. Regular reviews with your training provider, line manager and workplace mentor, in addition to wrap-around support from the Talent and Learning team.

  • Math's (grade 4/C and above)
