Summary

To train as a multi-skilled engineering apprentice, in order to gain the required skills and knowledge, leading to the successful completion in electrical engineering. Training will be electronically biased with mechanical skills obtained through training and workplace experience, to work towards being a multi-skilled maintenance engineer.

Wage
£25,740 a year

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Work as part of a team to ensure smooth running of the production areas.

This will be working and training under very experienced Engineers, attending breakdowns (Mechanical and or Electrical), Planned Maintenance and Continuous Improvements.

The role is very hands-on, and no 2 days are the same. You will be taught to use many different tools throughout the working week.

Personal Development

Take part in all training required for site operation, including Safety, CI, Quality, Legislative, Hazardous areas and process safety.

Safety

  • Work to Safe Systems of Work e.g. lockout procedures, permits
  • Report any plant or equipment defects and/or unsafe conditions
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the workplace
  • Follow equipment booking out or pre-use check procedures
  • Carry out Point of Use Risk Assessments prior to completing tasks

Your training plan

Apprentices will attend college on a day-release basis, alongside regular on-site meetings with a designated assessor. This will coincide with a training plan delivered by your employer.
