Summary

The Digital Marketing Apprentice will support daily marketing activities, focusing on boosting online visibility and generating new business opportunities for clients. This hands-on role offers valuable opportunities to develop key skills in SEO, content creation, paid advertising, and lead generation in a fast-paced, dynamic agency setting.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Execute digital marketing - including SEO/SEM, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns.
  • Craft engaging content to improve web pages.
    Contribute to the direction and planning of future strategy for our clients.
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
  • Stay up to date, with new and emerging trends within the digital marketing landscape.
  • Being comfortable using industry tools, such as SEM Rush, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google My Business, Search Metrics, SEO MOZ, Majestic, Ruler Analytics and Media Hawk (and other emerging tools as the case may be).
  • Collaborate with other partner agencies and partner vendors.
    Support the development of our clients paid social lead generation strategies.
  • Support the development and performance of paid search campaigns to meet business objectives for our clients and our own marketing objectives.
  • Work alongside our wider digital marketing and lead generation teams ensuring short and long-term targets are met, and that shared learnings support and scale paid social/search marketing.
  • Adopt a continual ‘test and learn’ approach to all marketing activities.
    Contribute to content marketing strategies with ideas, innovation, and creativity to enhance campaign performance.
  • Share experiences to improve and evaluate existing campaigns and strategies.

  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
  • Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analysis tools to record, interpret and analyse customer or campaign data.

Your training plan

The delivery will be one day a week with the University Academy 92 (UA92). Teaching will be blended with face to face on campus delivery in UA92’s £2m ground-breaking digital academy, but we can also deliver the sessions remotely.

  • UA92 Apprentices develop an in depth understanding of relevant theory and practice. This knowledge underpins your day-to-day role within your employer organisation. A standard delivery model will mean you study 1 day a week on the UA92 campus in Manchester. The rest of your time is spent within your employer organisation.
  • The apprenticeships are 12-18 month training programmes. You will study a series of compulsory modules and have the opportunity to complete other industry recognised qualifications such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
