Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to train as an entry level HR Assistant working within a HR team all based on site together in the Support Office in Pinner.

Wage
£17,680 a year

NMW for age until enrolled onto the apprenticeship course; after which it will be £8.50 per hour.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • To carry out duties within the HR department and perform such other tasks as reasonably requested by the HR Director
  • To liaise with the HR team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department as a whole

Employment Duties

  • To establish and maintain productive working relationships with all members of the team
  • To carry out delegated tasks and areas of responsibility as directed by the HR Director
  • To work with a number of external organisations, groups and individuals and carry out these tasks to a high standard of professionalism to reflect credit on the company
  • To take reasonable care for her/his own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by her/his acts or omissions at work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to all employee queries raised through the Damira Hub, specifically Starters, Leavers and Changes alongside adhoc requests
  • Manage own inbox to ensure that all emails are responded and resolved within a timely manner
  • Escalate all issues to the HR Director for guidance and support
  • Respond to telephone calls to the department and direct them as appropriate
  • Action Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly tasks as per the HR calendar
  • Maintain HR systems as part of the processes
  • Support the HR team with project work as required

  • Service Delivery: Delivers excellent customer service on a range of HR queries and requirements, providing solutions, advice and support primarily to managers. Builds managers’ expertise in HR matters, improving their ability to handle repeated situations themselves where appropriate. Uses agreed systems and processes to deliver service to customers. Takes the initiative to meet agreed individual and team KPIs in line with company policy, values, standards. Plans and organises their work, often without direct supervision, to meet commitments and KPIs.
  • Problem Solving: Uses sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes before developing HR solutions. Takes ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate.
  • Communication & Interpersonal: Deals effectively with customers/colleagues, using sound interpersonal skills and communicating well through a range of media eg phone, face to face, email, internet. Adapts their style to their audience. Builds trust and sound relationships with customers. Handles conflict and sensitive HR situations professionally and confidentially.
  • Teamwork: Consistently supports colleagues /collaborates within the team and HR to achieve results. Builds/maintains strong working relationships with others in the team and across HR where necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve HR performance and service; acts on them within the authority of their role. Supports implementation of HR changes/projects with the business.
  • Managing HR Information: Maintains required HR records as part of services delivered. Prepares reports and management information from HR data, with interpretation as required.
  • Personal Development: Keeps up to date with business changes and HR legal/policy/process changes relevant to their role. Seeks feedback and acts on it to improve their performance and overall capability.

Your training plan

  • In addition to gaining practical experience in the role, you will also attain an NVQ Level 3 HR qualification which will help start your career and give you an insight into the businesses processes and procedures
  • Our training is all complete remotely via teams with a development coach who will be available for support 24/7 and will arrange weekly/fortnightly meetings with you
  • You receive 20% off the job training during this Apprenticeship which is included in your weekly working hours
