Summary

In this Apprenticeship you will be part of the Engineering UK Practice. We deliver projects to various world-wide customers,ensuring that the projects and services across the business are delivered, maintained, and tested to a high standard. This will involve working alongside other delivery team members, IT and business departments.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Work as part of a team to support and assist with the technical operational aspects of a project in order to streamline communication between teams
  • Gain understanding of the techniques and mastering the art of analysing business processes, systems, and data to drive informed decision-making
  • You will learn how to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and facilitate collaboration
  • You will learn how to develop the analytical ability to interpret data (simple to complex) and derive valuable insights to support requirements
  • Ability to apply predictive analytics in the collation and use of data
  • Use a range of analytical techniques such as data mining, time series forecasting and modelling techniques to identify and predict trends and patterns in data
  • Collate and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and convert into infographics, reports, tables, dashboards and graphs
  • You will gain and acquire the skills to create reports and documents that communicate the analytical information into meaningful business language
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation, and reports to present, communicate your findings and recommendations back to the team
  • Project issue management by using problem-solving skills and taking appropriate actions to manage and correct the issue, should any arise
  • Be a key point of contact for all participants in the project as well as sharing any relevant communications
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met by conducting quality assurance tests
  • Support the Portfolio Management team in running and organising the portfolios
  • Dedicate one day a week towards studying for your Data Analyst Level 4 qualification

  • Use data systems securely to meet requirements and in line with organisational procedures and legislation including principles of Privacy by Design
  • implement the stages of the data analysis lifecycle
  • apply principles of data classification within data analysis activity
  • analyse data sets taking account of different data structures and database designs
  • assess the impact on user experience and domain context on data analysis activity
  • identify and escalate quality risks in data analysis with suggested mitigation or resolutions as appropriate
  • undertake customer requirements analysis and implement findings in data analytics planning and outputs
  • identify data sources and the risks and challenges to combination within data analysis activity
  • apply organizational architecture requirements to data analysis activities
  • apply statistical methodologies to data analysis tasks
  • apply predictive analytics in the collation and use of data
  • collaborate and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders using appropriate styles and behaviours to suit the audience

Your training plan

  • You will gain a Business Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Delivered via In-person Residential workshops which are block release, self study and support via your Learning Mentors

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • GCSE or equivalent and Maths and English (grade 4 or above)
