Work

Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

In your first year, you'll attend Engineering Trust in Bicester to learn basic maintenance engineering skills.

Then, you’ll apply this knowledge on-site, learning from skilled engineers.

The 4-year apprenticeship, a partnership between Collins Aerospace and Engineering Trust, covers:

  • Understanding technical documentation
  • Performing system diagnosis, repairs, and modifications
  • Becoming multi-skilled when required
  • Applying safe, efficient methods to maintain machinery
  • Liaising with external service and parts providers
  • Assisting in Root Cause Analysis and identifying improvements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • Maths (grade 5)
  • Science (grade 5)
  • Total of 5 GCSEs inc Maths, English & Science (grade 5)

The role is based at our Collins Aerospace Composite Center of Excellence facility in Banbury, UK – formerly the Crompton Technology Group (CTG) – designs, qualifies and manufactures high-performance structural and non-structural aerospace composite products for military and commercial applications.
