Summary

As an Apprentice Production Technician at Itel Electronics, you will gain hands-on experience in a specialised production environment. You will work alongside experienced technicians to learn the skills necessary to manufacture, assemble, and inspect/test cable harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies whilst gaining your Level 3 qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the setup and operation of equipment for cable harness and electro-mechanical assembly production
  • Participate in structured training programs to learn essential production techniques and procedures
  • Manufacture assemblies using a range of tools in accordance with IPC-620 acceptance standards
  • Assist in the assembly, soldering, wiring, and testing of electronic components and systems
  • Perform visual inspection and electrical testing on a range of assemblies in accordance with industry standards
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, test results, and quality checks
  • Identify and resolve issues with cable harness and electro -mechanical assemblies
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and quality standards

Engineering technician Level 3 (A level) Apprenticeship Standard:

  • All apprentices will be required to achieve as a minimum- Level 2 Foundation competence qualification (Practical units broad based skills)
  • Level 3 Development Competence qualification (Practical work based units)
  • Level 3 Development technical knowledge qualification (Theory based units broad based knowledge)
  • Apprentice without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this prior to taking EPA

End Point Assessment:

  • Portfolio Based Occupational Competence Interview (Viva)
  • A nominated professional Institution (PEI) undertakes the independent assessment to determine if the apprentice has met the EngTech requirements as defined by the UK-SPEC
