Summary

Your day-to-day activities will involve learning about and supporting operational activities around overhaul and maintenance of bogies, wheelsets, traction motors, pantographs, HVAC units and Construction of new build bogies for HS2.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • The overhaul and maintenance of bogies, wheelsets, traction motors, pantographs and HVAC unit
  • The construction of the new build bogies for HS2
  • Participate in company initiatives, in particular to be engaged in Continuous Improvement activity targeted at all aspects of Alstom performance
  • Participate in STEM & other Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives
  • To comply with Alstom Procedures and the Code of Ethics
  • Carry out general depot duties
  • Provide basic maintenance competency
  • Carry out depot cleaning/general housekeeping
  • Carry out Testing activities in accordance with pre-written test procedures
  • Assist in component change outs

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • 5 Subjects including Maths, English & Science (grade 5 to 9)
