Summary
eCorrugated Ltd is an independent manufacturer of high volume corrugated glued cases and supplier of corrugated sheets. Reporting to the Production Manager, as the apprentice machine operator you will train to operate a state-of-the-art flexographic converting line producing boxes in a variety of styles, both printed and plain.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Your duties will include, although will not be limited to and the apprenticeship program will offer training aimed towards assuming responsibility as the main machine operator:
- Responsible for setting and operating of an in-line flexographic case-making machine
- Achieving departmental production targets on a daily basis
- Highlighting & communicating any faults that may result in production delays to the production supervisor
- Ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved
- Maintain high house-keeping standards in all work areas
- Maintaining operational data & accurate production records
- Adhering to and promoting the company's safety systems & procedures at all times

Course contents
- Both independently and within a team start-up a manufacturing batch or continuous process in line with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures, understanding the principles of operation.
- Both independently and within a team operate a manufacturing batch or continuous process in line with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures, understanding the principles of operation.
- Both independently and within a team shut down/complete a run of the manufacturing batch or continuous process in line with appropriate Standard Operating Procedures, understanding the principles of operation.
- Work safely in a science manufacturing environment, understanding personal responsibility for Health, Safety and the Environment and principles of risk management
- Control and monitor a process or plant and equipment, effectively, efficiently and securely, and resolve problems or correct abnormal conditions.
- Complete documentation relevant to the manufacturing process including relevant calculations.
- Participate in continuous performance improvement.
Your training plan
In-house training plus the candidate will follow a Level 3 Apprenticeship programme and study towards a Level 3 in Science Manufacturing Technician. This training will be structured and delivered by Cheshire College - South & West. If the candidate does not hold GCSE grades A*-C (9-4) or equivalent, they will be required to complete a Level 2 Functional Skill in the relevant subject.
