Summary
Little Leapers Limited are offering the chance for a candidate to take part in a Childcare Apprenticeship (Level 3). The successful candidate will be working as part of a team to ensure the essential day to day tasks are completed in line with policies and procedures and legislation from governing bodies.

Shifts will be rotated on a 3 week basis, being either early, middle of the day (i.e. 9am to 5:30pm) or lates. 8 hours working per day.
1 of the 5 days will be spent ‘off the job’ either in classroom/ workshops/ shadowing/ writing assessments etc.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Deliver the highest care and education standards and ensure secure knowledge and understanding of Policies and Procedures and child development and knowledge of EYFS and Canopy curriculum and regulatory standards.
- Ensuring internal policies and procedures and legislation from governing bodies are adhered to and demonstrate your knowledge through high standards of practice.
- Deliver and support the Canopy curriculum to ensure a child-centred approach to operating all aspects of the nursery, and support the observation and planning process to meet the needs of all children in line with the Quality Assurance Framework.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with all stakeholders of the nursery and wider Canopy community including parent professionals and colleagues.
- Ensure Keeping health and safety policies and procedures and continuously and demonstrate behaviours that underpin a high performing safety culture.
- Working as part of the team to ensure all essential day to day tasks are completed in line with the demands of the area you are working within i.e... Hygiene standards and room preparation.
- Understand the referral processes when necessary to engage with professionals to support a child referral.
- Attend staff meetings and training to ensure a continuation of personal and professional development to ensure your knowledge and skills are up to date, full, and relevant to the role of Nursery Practitioner.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade A*-C (9-4))
- Maths (grade A*-C (9-4))
Desirable qualifications
NVQ or SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in:
- Childcare (grade Pass)

About this company
Following an extensive refurbishment programme, we opened our doors to our first cohort of babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers on 5th June 2023. Our day nursery has space for 83 children. Our L shaped, single storey building has windows on both sides, filling the 3 large rooms with light, as well as double doors to the rear, giving each room its own access to the extensive gardens. The natural environment extends inside the nursery as plants and natural resources abound to maintain the fresh, calm atmosphere of a wooded glade.
