Summary

Become a Pack Leader at our Dog Daycare. All learning takes place on-site. We offer training in a great five star facility looking after 48+ dogs of all ages and sizes. 30+ hours per week, Saturday mornings on a rota. Uniform provided. £11,778 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Animal care and welfare assistant (level 2)
Hours
Monday to Friday. Shifts are between 6 hours and 9 hours starting from 7.15am to 6.15 pm. Saturday (on a rota), 7.45 am to 1.15pm. Shifts allocated in advance but can alter depending on number of dogs we have in the next working day.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Provide high-quality care for animals, including feeding and well being
  • Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to managerial staff promptly
  • Engage with our clients to provide information about their dog’s behaviour
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within all areas to ensure a safe environment for both animals and staff
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement enrichment activities for animals in our care

  • Training will take place on-site here at Dogs Play
  • Bottle Green are here once a month but available at all times if needed

  • A work book has to be then completed on that topic
  • Off job training is completed throughout your apprenticeship

You will be working outdoors for most of the time. You will be on your feet all of the time. We are an open pack and therefore there are multiple dogs in an area with you.
