Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
This is a great opportunity for Equine Apprentice to get stuck in with the daily running of the stud, including, but not limited to:
- Mucking out
- Turning out/bringing in
- Tacking up and tack cleaning
- Feeding and filling hay nets
- Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
- Bathing and rug changing
- First aid
- Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
- Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Desirable qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:

Other requirements
Previous experience working with horses is essential. Candidates must be 18 or over and ideally have their own car as location is very rural, hard working and keen to succeed in the equine industry. A good sense of humour is a must! Accommodation is available if required.

Aston Mullins Stud is owned by Simon and Mags Hope whose life-long passion for racing and bloodstock led to them acquiring the present 300-350 acre farm in the heart of the Vale of Aylesbury in 2000.
