We are looking for a Finance Apprentice to support the key business functions within the finance department in our Hereford office at FläktGroup.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Input daily banking information onto Dynamics, allocate customer payments to relevant sales invoices
  • Match intercompany invoices against relevant purchase orders, acquire authorisation from relevant signatories, help resolve queries, and load invoices to Dynamics
  • Reconcile intercompany invoices against statements to finalise monthly netting payment
  • Raise sales invoices and send to relevant customers
  • Assist with new maintenance contracts, and customer queries
  • Assist the credit control team by chasing up outstanding sales invoices

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located in Hereford (HR4 9SX).

You will receive training one day per week.

Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed.

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your AAT Level 2 accountancy qualification.

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 or C above)
  • Maths (grade 4 or C above)
