Summary

Alwayse are offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Toolmaker to join their team and learn all aspects of the toolroom from booking in material, to designing and planning the tooling, to maintaining and setting tools. You will gain a variety of skills and gain valuable knowledge from experienced Engineers.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

Day to day tasks include:

  • Manufacture tooling
  • Work on the design of the tool
  • Problem solve
  • Setting tools
  • Run press tool
  • Process reporting checks
  • Tool maintenance 
  • Learn how a press shop runs
  • Booking materials in

Your training plan

This is a Level 3 Toolmaker Apprenticeship which will take between 3-4 years to complete. You will be required to attend In-Comm Training, 12 Vigo Pl, Aldridge, Walsall WS9 8UG for the first 7 months of the apprenticeship. You will then be based at the company for the remainder of the apprenticeship with Assessor visits monthly.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English, Maths, science (grade 5 or above)

Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
