Ben Leathers is looking for a new member of staff for his team. The yard has fantastic facilities:- Outdoor School Jumping field Gallops 23 Acres Cross Country During this apprenticeship you will be caring for 26 horses that are eventers and schooling liveries. You will have the opportunity to groom at shows and support the team.

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

Ben Leathers is looking for a new member of staff for his team.

The yard has fantastic facilities:

  • Outdoor School
  • Jumping field
  • Gallops
  • 23 Acres Cross Country

During this apprenticeship you will be caring for 26 horses that are eventers and schooling liveries. You will have the opportunity to groom at shows and support the team.

The role will also consist of yard duties:

  • Preparing for shows
  • Turning Out
  • Mucking Out
  • Lunging
  • Riding forn the right candidate

Good basic equine experience is required for this role. The apprenticeship is based onsite in a practical environment so no need to spend all day in a classroom. If you did not gain your maths & English GCSE's at school we will support you to gain these on programme.

You have to be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years or more in order to apply for this role.

If you hold an Equine Level 3 qualification you are unable to apply for this role.

Your training plan

  • A Level 2 equine groom certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the apprenticeship
  • All training will take place within the workplace
  • Your dedicated trainer coach will visit you remotely or at work every month

Desirable qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements

There is no accommodation available on site, there is a local bus service , please make sure you can get to and from the location daily before applying. Livery for your own horse is available.
