We have a fantastic opportunity to train as a construction site supervisor, gaining a nationally recognised qualification in our energy business unit.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

You will be given exposure to the below and much more: 

  • Setting out of civil engineering and building works 
    Health & Safety 
  • Minimising the environmental impact of construction projects 
  • Recording, control and reporting of progress on a construction project 
  • Understanding how to manage and motivate a team

Where you’ll work

To be geographically mobile – as our projects are UK wide and can be in rural and remote locations you will need to be able to commit to visiting sites across England, Scotland and Wales, staying away from home on a regular basis

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Construction site supervisor (level 4)

Equal to higher national certificate (HNC)

Course contents
  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
  • Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

Your training plan

Construction Site Supervisor Level 4. 

Alongside the day-to-day role, you’ll attend college on block release in the Midlands every 6-8 weeks to develop your technical knowledge and skills and learn from others in the industry.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 or C)
  • Maths (grade 4 or C)

Desirable qualifications

BTEC in:

  • Engineering or construction (grade Pass)
