Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

As a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice, you’ll be supported every step by your line manager and mentor in different aspects of manufacturing to gain experience and knowledge of our business processes and requirements. Working alongside our process Engineering & operations team, you will be encouraged to generate new ideas and use Engineering principles to develop and modify current processes, tooling and fixtures. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously and as part of a wider team.

Your training plan

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience over the 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll gain your BTEC level 3 qualification.

This 4-year apprenticeship will be made up of Year 1 at Make UK's state-of-the-art training facility, Year 2 on day release to Make UK with 4 days per week at work, Years 3 and 4 will be full-time at work.

  • Science (or any other relevant subject) (grade 5)
