Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Undertake component, solder joint & weld cross section analysis
  • Carry out stress analysis on varied equipment/processes using strain gauges and relevant hardware/software to evaluate risk to components
  • X-ray analysis of new and current production parts to establish conformance
  • Teardown analysis of products as per Customer agreement
  • Use of Co-ordinate measurement machines
  • Use of high magnification optical aids (microscope, SEM/EDS)
  • Support Process, Product, Test, and Quality Engineering requests as and when required
  • Complete and document daily/weekly/monthly
  • Measurement/inspection/analysis routines
  • Contribute to the running and upkeep of the plant calibration system
  • Determine ESD acceptance of items to be used in controlled areas
  • Document all inspection/measurement data and provide technical
