Summary

The successful candidate with work with in a key UK distributor of technical and industrial materials. Whilst developing your knowledge to obtain your Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will work alongside our Materials Coordinator in our supply chain, ensuring efficient process as well as assisting with kitting our electrical and other components.

Wage

£14,133.60 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Developing your knowledge in-line with the apprenticeship's Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Shadowing our Materials Coordinator to learn the business processes and procedures
  • Assisting in the receipt, storage and picking of products
  • Kitting a range of specified components ready for dispatch
  • Pack products in line with company procedures
  • Ensuring accurate dispatching of products
  • Use a range of company software in-line with procedures

  • Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Your training plan

Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2 Apprenticreship Standard:

  • Training will take place with in the workplace, supported by regular visits with an assigned industry Skills Coach
  • As a student, you will have access to both the Cauldon and Burslem campuses of Stoke-on-Trent College, should you wish to make use of our facilities

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade C/4 or above)
  • Maths (grade C/4 or above)

Other requirements
