Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
Will provide a supporting role to the Corporate Tax team based at Thorpe Park, Leeds.
This will include:
- Occasionally attending meetings with clients with others from the team.
- Analysing information provided by those clients, including gaining an understanding of accounts and corporation tax computations.
- Assisting in the preparation of similar computations and corporation tax returns. As they develop their technical skills, they will be involved in providing tax advice, including on M&A deals.

Your training plan
Professional Accounting or Taxation Technician Level 4
ACA Certificate will develop your accountancy skills and technical knowledge, so you continue to add value to your company. You’ll achieve a globally-recognised qualification (CFAB), and gain a deeper understanding of accountancy and finance, and how it relates on a wider business scale.
This level consists of six exams that introduce the essentials of accountancy, finance, and businesses. The six exams also make up a standalone qualification: the ICAEW CFAB (ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business). The units are:
- Accounting (AC)
- Assurance (AS)
- Business, Technology & Finance (BTF)
Law (LW) - Management Information (MI)
- Principles of Taxation (PTX)
- Training will be provided by attending either face-to-face classroom based lessons or Live Online sessions.
- An apprenticeship has to be relevant to the job you are undertaking and you must dedicate 20% of your time towards it.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- Basic Maths (grade 9/A* - 6/B)
- Standard English (grade 9/A* - 6/B)
A Level or equivalent in:
- Any (grade A-B)
