Luxury Leisure are offering a fantastic apprentice opportunity for someone wanting to kick start a career in finance, within a market leading leisure company. The position is based at their head office, in a beautifully modern building with an onsite gym, situated along the Team Valley, Gateshead.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to gain experience in finance whilst working towards a recognised AAT qualification.
Luxury Leisure are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join their friendly and professional team, who will fully support the apprentice throughout their apprenticeship.
The purpose of this role is to provide effective support to the rest of Finance team and to undertake various finance based tasks

• To complete daily bank statement reconciliations.

• Processing personal expenses & credit card statements accurately and efficiently.

• Maintaining a log of weekly banking summaries, ensuring all updates and amendments are completed

• Update ATM & PDQ reconciliation

• Ensure all spreadsheets are reconciled for month end deadlines

• Assist with processing of invoices

• To cover and assist with Reception & Admin duties such as booking hotels, travel & meeting rooms, managing post, answering phone calls and other office duties

Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential for this role.

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

Please ensure that you can travel to the Team Valley for a 09.00am start. Candidates must be able to attend fortnightly day release sessions for the AAT level 2 Apprenticeship at Access Training on Team Valley, Gateshead.

The company view this apprentice position as a long term opportunity for an individual to progress within their organisation and they are committed to supporting the candidate’s progression.

The salary would start at £16,000 and increase to £18,000 once level 2 was passed. The employer would then review to see if the candidate would go onto level 3, and possibly again for level 4.
