Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
No days are ever the same in Revenues. The apprentice will be helping people face-to-face and over the phone to understand their Council Tax bills.
They will be assessing entitlement to a wide range of discounts and exemptions by using legislation, reviewing evidence supplied and asking for any additional evidence that is needed.
They will discuss payment plans and the best way to pay for our residents and help them when they fall into arrears.
They will help to process large amounts of data from various forms. For example, processing unpaid Direct Debits or reviewing planning and building control information to ensure the council tax list is up-to-date.
There are some changes being made to the Council Tax system and the Apprentice will be involved in new ways of working to deal with these changes as well as looking at our existing processes and developing new electronic solutions to improve the online services available to our residents.
