Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you’ll do at work

  • Content Creation and Management - Responsible for creating content across various platforms, including blogs, newsletter design, and sourcing user-generated content to enhance engagement and brand visibility.
  • Marketing Team Support - Support the marketing team by contributing ideas, assisting with tasks, and feeding insights and updates into the Marketing Supervisor for strategic direction and execution.
  • Social Media Engagement - Engage with audiences on social media by responding to comments, reaching out to followers, and actively fostering conversations to strengthen relationships and build brand loyalty.
  • Website and Product Management - Support the website by adding products to the site or updating retailer systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date product listings.
  • PR and Influencer Outreach Strategy - Develop and implement strategies to increase product visibility by building strong relationships with both media representatives and influencers, as well as key industry partners. Focus on creating impactful communication, pitching innovative ideas, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration. This includes distributing press releases, coordinating influencer partnerships, and seeking creative ways to promote products and services across various channels.

  • Interpret the aims of the brief.
  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief.
  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created.
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed.
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.
  • Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
  • Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

Your training plan

As a Content Creator apprentice, you will work to a marketing brief. You will assist with the creation and distribution of creative content for various digital channels, such as social media platforms, podcasts, and blogs, that aim to boost audience engagement.

Generally, your role will consist of conducting important market research and developing creative ideas, but the exciting part is that no two days are the same, as this can take shape through a range of mediums, from copywriting, to creating graphics, to editing videos.

Throughout your time as a Content Creator apprentice, you will develop crucial content marketing skills, such as the ability to create engaging content for your target audience on TikTok and Instagram, analyse important metrics using Google Analytics 4, and create powerful graphics and video using Adobe Creative Cloud.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 5)
