Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
You will work within the Customer and Market Insight team who are part of the Marketing & Customer Insights Directorate and play a pivotal role in helping the organisation understand its customers and learners to ensure that they are at the heart of strategic decision-making.
- Learn to understand customers, competitors, trends, digital behaviour and markets and anticipate future industry directions to drive strategic decision-making
- Analyse market and competitor data, reporting market share, responding to ad hoc questions from stakeholders and building dashboards
- Support the development and delivery of the customer experience measurement program, including journey measurement, questionnaire design, sample sourcing and communicating the results
- Contribute to ad hoc research projects, both qualitative and quantitative, through internal teams or external agencies
- Collaborate with Product, Customer Experience, Marketing and Sales teams to provide insights

Course contents
- Liaise with and manage, clients, stakeholders, internal teams and external suppliers to deliver required outcomes.
- Undertake data collection, data analysis, data presentation and data storage including analysis and validation of the outputs from primary or secondary research data sources.
- Interpret, prepare and communicate research findings such as presentations, reports, and workshops.
- Make evidence-based recommendations from research results.
- Use communications skills and techniques such as negotiation, collaboration, problem solving, and decision making.
- Interpret research objectives and translate into research design and implementation.
- Use digital and IT software packages relevant to the role.
- Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation such as SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions).
- Select and use appropriate research design techniques.
- Evaluate data and research findings to derive insights to support improvements to future research projects.

Your training plan
- The successful candidate will work towards a Level 4 Market Research qualification from Swarm Training, taking 15-18 months to complete
- The apprentice must dedicate a minimum of 6 hours per week to study, with monthly tutor-led sessions and assigned tasks
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
A Level in:
- Minimum of any three A-Level subjects (grade C or above)
