Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

You will work under the guidance of experienced mentors and support a variety of IT operations, including:

  • Server Hardware Support: Maintain and troubleshoot HPE and Dell servers in a multi-vendor environment
  • Data Centre Support: Perform cabling activities (installation, termination, patching, testing) with various cable types like CAT-5e, CAT-6, and fibre optics
  • Data Centre Facilities Management: Handle Install, Moves, and Changes (IMAC) requests, along with decommissioning tasks.
  • Client Support: Escort external vendors, manage access requirements, and assist with goods in/out
  • Customer Site Work: Based in Lewisham, you will have occasional site visits to London Docklands

Your training plan

Fully funded L3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship with HPE CDS and LearnTech.

Typical duration to gateway: 13 months (followed by up to 3 months for the End Point Assessment (EPA) period)
Apprenticeship level: Advanced (Level 3)
Programme: IT Solutions Technician
During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with LearnTech, delivered through combined weekly live remote classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning working towards completing the L3 IT Solutions Technician standard.
