Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As a small company we need someone happy to turn their hand to any task we require. Your main role will be creating designs to meet the needs of a tender, client request or grant and to pitch your solution through written and verbal means. Here are some of the tasks you might encounter:

  • Researching software, skills & technologies
  • Learning and working within editors and tools such as Unity
  • Applying to tenders, grants and client ads
  • Creating pitches and other persuasive materials
  • Creating promotional materials and write-ups
  • Creating & maintaining design documentation for the project
  • Drawing schematics and diagrams to communicate processes
  • Communicating with clients and team mates
  • User testing and running user testing sessions
  • QA testing your own and teams mates projects and feeding back

  • Interpret the aims of the brief.
  • Research ideas and concepts to meet the brief.
  • Evaluate brand requirements and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare a mood board or other visual aid for the content to be created.
  • Present ideas, pitches and proposals for creative content to be further developed.
  • Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.
  • Interpret data, consider its integrity and use it to inform content.
  • Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
  • Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
  • Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
  • Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
  • Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
  • Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
  • Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
  • Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
  • Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
  • Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
  • Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
  • Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
  • Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

Your training plan

This role incorporates six hours of paid study time per week, including one day per month in person at the Creative Process Training Centre in Brighton. Make sure you can travel to Brighton for this.

A Content Creator (level 3) will learn how to create and develop content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print

The programme is well-suited for graduates, marketing and comms assistants, administrators, social media assistants and those looking to enhance their Content Creation expertise.

Remote role with meet up with Brighton-based team twice a week. Essential Requirements: Imaginative and eager to suggest and experiment with new ideas Passion and knowledge of technology, games and art Creating designs, diagrams & documentation from verbal or written instructions Basic management skills for organising small scale events Willingness to continuously learn and work on new tasks Reliable, professional and an excellent communicator Desirable Traits: Experience or qualification in design Art, programming or IT skills Experience in QA Experience in managing or running small-scale events
