Summary

The business has a large and diverse range of tools and equipment, and knowing the status and operational condition of this equipment at all times is essential so that we can respond quickly to our customer's needs. Whilst not purely an administrative or desk based role, the position is a supportive one and will focus on equipment management.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Maintenance and development of the equipment database.
  • Entry of new equipment onto the database including assigning suitable maintenance and calibration schedules.
  • Organising routine maintenance, repairs and calibration of equipment.
  • Purchasing of new equipment, materials and consumables in line with the company processes and procedures.
  • Organisation and issue of equipment in readiness for use by the technician teams.
  • Taking equipment back into storage and prepping for next use after completion of work by the technician teams.
  • Working with relevant Quality, HSE, IT and technician teams to effectively manage equipment and PPE in accordance with internal policy and legislative requirements.
  • Responsibility for shipping of equipment around the world for use by technician teams.
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Engineers from other Work Groups within the business, on requirements for future / existing project needs.

  • Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Your training plan

Your apprenticeship training will be a fully work based learning programme across 12 months. Upon completion of your apprenticeship, you will achieve a level 2 qualification as a Supply Chain Warehouse Operative.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
  • Science (grade 4)
