We work both flexibly, from home and in our modern office, during Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm. You will also benefit from flexi time, meaning you can accrue flexi time. There will be some few times you may work evenings and weekends.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As we said no experience is needed and you'll be supported to reach your potential.
With support from dedicated mentors you will:
- Assist Housing colleagues with calls, home visits, estate walkabouts and capturing up-to-date information on our tenants and their homes
- Work alongside teams in housing services and other areas of the Council such as internal and external partners (social services/police etc)
- Develop your knowledge in legal proceedings through attending court hearings and being part of the process, possibly resulting in taking tenancy action
- Have the opportunity to attend different training sessions, conferences and community events to gain relevant knowledge to help develop essential skills for your own personal development
- Have an insight into what external and internal partners deal with day to day and how housing roles will fit into these tasks
- Work with the Housing Management Team to collect rent that is due, support tenants with their responsibilities of having a property/tenancy and support
- Assist the teams work on more complex cases to develop awareness and understanding

Course contents
- Customer Service: Be able to apply a range of customer service skills in order to provide a professional, accurate, timely, ethical and non-judgemental front line service which meets the needs of a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
- Respond to vulnerability: Uses appropriate levels of skill and judgment to understand the needs of vulnerable individuals and groups (including those with complex needs) and respond accordingly.
- Communication: Demonstrate effective and appropriate communication skills to enable timely identification and resolution of issues. Be able to signpost customers who need additional support to other colleagues, partner agencies.
- Administration: Be able to apply a range of administrative skills in order to support a range of housing and property related services.
- Information collection and sharing: Understand and be able to use a variety of methods to collect and present information such as resident, neighbourhood and property data in an effective manner. Information and data must be collected, recorded and presented accurately.
- Team work: Work with internal colleagues and external partners to achieve individual, team and business targets. Work with colleagues to identify solutions to problems, appreciate the importance of team working and where they fit within the team.
- Time management: Organise and plan work in a flexible manner to ensure tasks are prioritised and completed within agreed timescales.
- Tools and equipment: Effective use of IT equipment and software, including housing and property management software. The appropriate use of housing and property related work equipment.
- Decision making: Effective decision making in order to ensure work tasks are completed in line with instruction and on time.
Your training plan
- Housing and Property Management Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
- Supported by work place mentors and your dedicated college tutor you will attend College virtually, witht the option to work from home. This will be at least once a month
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4/C)
- Maths (grade C/4 or above)
Other in:
- Maths & English (grade Level 2 or above (or GCSE))
Desirable qualifications
Other in:
- EHC (grade n/a)
