Summary
Working alongside current Stores operatives conducting the Stores / Goods-in function on a day-to-day basis. Working alongside other team members to ensure the stores/goods-in team/processes are running smoothly / effectively to support business needs.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Develop expertise on all aspects of Stores / Goods-in products and processes and gain knowledge and experience from the team/business
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the stores/goods-in processes, conduct quality checks
- Awareness, understanding and adherence to the health & safety policy at all times
- Working effectively/efficiently on a continuous basis
- Interpret and work to company drawings and specifications including parts lists and BOM’s
- Take responsibility for own training and motivated to attend any relevant training to keep skills/knowledge up-to-date
- Participate in target setting through business planning and briefing sessions
- Ensure agreed targets and deadlines are understood and implemented
- When required help with other duties in the stores/goods-in department
- Support the Finishing Team Leader as and when required
- Support team members when required
- Understand and interpret all relevant information during meetings/conversations to ensure departmental/company objectives are achieved

- Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
- Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
- Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
- Carry out and record learning and development activities.
