Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Ofsted to be Outstanding, which reflects our hard work and dedication to the wonderful children that come to our academy. More recently, we were awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark in December 2019, which is valuable recognition for the special nature of Morley Newlands. We are a large primary school, with over 650 children from Nursery age right up to Year 6. Situated close to the centre of Morley in south Leeds, our academy serves families from across the local community.
We are a highly committed team who have very high expectations and a strong appreciation of the needs and priorities of each and every child.
Our overriding aim is to ensure that all the children leave Morley Newlands with the key knowledge and skills that will enable them to become confident and highly capable life-long learners. We are relentless in ensuring the children receive a broad and balanced curriculum that allows them to express their creativity as well as their individual academic flair in a full range of subjects. In addition to the highly effective teaching in the classroom on a daily basis, we make sure that each year group of pupils experiences a rich range of visits and visitors throughout the academic year.
We recognise that together with our parents we have a shared responsibility and a common goal centred on the wellbeing and development of the children. We, therefore, ensure that our staff are approachable so that families feel welcomed and that they are a central part of school life.
