VPI are looking for an Apprentice Accountant to join their team. Candidates should be confident, keen, and enthusiastic and committed with a positive attitude to work. This is an ideal opportunity to learn all aspects of the role and achieve an Advanced Apprenticeship qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The Apprentice Accountant will assist the finance team with the production of the monthly management accounts, reconciliations, analysis of financial information and associated reports. This will include tasks such as but is not limited to;

  • Preparation of the daily gross margin report
  • Processing of month end journals
  • Preparing month end ledger reconciliations
  • Calculating prepayments and accruals
  • Preparing and reviewing intercompany invoices and journals
  • Processing invoices and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with the annual statutory audit
  • Supporting the quarterly reforecasting and year end budgeting process
  • Identifying and solving problems effectively and efficiently
  • Assisting with other office duties within the team when required

  • Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles  to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • 5 GCSE's including Maths & English (grade 4/C or above)

A Level in:

  • 2 Subjects (grade C or above)

Desirable qualifications

Degree in:

  • Any Subject (grade 2:2)

Other in:

  • Accounting (grade Level 4 or above)
