Summary

Electrical & Instrument Technicians operate and maintain high voltage electrical power generation and electronic and pneumatic instrumentation equipment to within fine tolerances ensuring plant critical process control and safety systems are performing correctly by monitoring gas flow, level, pressure and temperature.

L3 Maintenance and operations engineering technician Apprenticeship Standard

The apprenticeship follows a 3 year programme, with the first year spent off the job at CATCH in Stallingborough. This would be Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm.

The remainder of the apprenticeship is then completed onsite with the employer.

Apprentices will achieve a Level 3 technical certificate and a Level 3 NVQ qualification as part of their apprenticeship.

GCSE in:

  • English Language and/or Literature (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • Science (grade 4)
