Assessment will take place both during and at the end of the apprenticeship, with completion being dependent on successful achievement of the qualification elements and the endorsement of the employer after a professional discussion, with the apprentice and training provider.
Apprentices will be assigned an assessor who will monitor their progress both in college and on site. Students are required to keep a portfolio of evidence generated in the workplace. Students will also be required to attend college on a day release in order to study the theoretical aspects of the apprenticeship and enhance their practical skills in preparation for the End-Point Assessment (EPA).

Other requirements
Candidate must be able to live in or be able to easily travel to Eastwood/surrounding areas and Nottingham college Basford according to working hours. Please note that if the successful applicant is found prior to the closing date the vacancy maybe withdrawn early. The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is currently £6.40 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 or over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

As a Plastering Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced plasterers to learn and master the art of plastering. Your responsibilities will include preparing surfaces, mixing and applying plaster, and finishing walls and ceilings to a high standard. This role is perfect for individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to grow in the construction field. Professional plastering services all types of plastering undertaken, including but not limited to: Re-skimming, Dry lining, Rendering ,Metal partitions, Extensions. Plastering is a core function within the construction sector, particularly the house building sector and refurbishment sectors. The Government has a target to build significantly more new homes over the coming years and therefore the demand for plasterers has never been higher. The broad purpose of this occupation is to apply layers of plaster onto walls, floors and ceilings. Plastering serves a protective function, in that it makes buildings more robust and also an aesthetic function. Plasterers will often complete dry lining projects during their career. Although a person may specialise solely in dry lining, a plasterer must have the knowledge of dry lining in addition to their knowledge and skills to plaster.
