Summary
Morice Town are looking to recruit a passionate teaching assistant to join our team. In this role you will work alongside teachers and senior leaders to develop your practice. You will provide high quality care and education for children. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, resilient, friendly and outgoing.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, resilient, friendly, and outgoing. They will have a passion for supporting young children’s learning and development and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Assist in getting the classroom ready for lessons and clearing away afterwards so as to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Assisting teachers in preparing the lesson materials and school equipment.
- Recording and reporting a pupil’s progress to the teacher.
- Helping pupils stay focused during class hours.
- Supervising group activities, sports events, and school outings.
- Helping teachers manage student behaviour.
- Looking after children who are unwell or upset.
- Healthy and safe learning environment for children.
- Be able to display effective communication skills with both children and adults.
- Be eager to work collaboratively in a wider team, adaptable and open to new ideas and practices.
- Be a fast and highly flexible thinker, being able to deal with change and unpredictability positively with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- An interest in SEND pupils and pupil wellbeing would be advantageous.

On our 15-month Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, you will work towards:
- Behaviours, Skills & Knowledge
Develop a wide range of skills and behaviours needed to excel as a Teaching Assistant. This includes effective communication, teamwork, classroom support strategies, and the ability to provide high-quality care and education for children in a primary school setting. - Functional Skills in Maths and English (if required)
If you don’t already hold Level 2 qualifications in maths and English, we’ll provide the training and support to help you achieve these essential skills, which are key to succeeding in your apprenticeship and future career. - End-Point Assessment (EPA)
At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll complete an EPA to demonstrate your competence, skills, and knowledge. This ensures you meet the high standards expected of a Level 3 Teaching Assistant and are fully prepared for a successful career in education. - Regular Workplace Visits from Your College Assessor
Your designated College assessor will visit you regularly at your workplace to observe your progress, provide constructive feedback, and ensure you’re on track with your learning and development. These visits are designed to support your growth and help you feel confident in your role. - Flexible Training Delivery
The delivery method and location of your training will be tailored to suit your needs and the requirements of your employer, ensuring you can balance your work responsibilities with your learning effectively.

We are looking for a driven individual with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both children and adults. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also using their own initiative. Previous experience working with young children, particularly those with special educational needs, is highly desirable, as is a genuine interest in supporting their development. Key qualities include being hardworking, enthusiastic, resilient and friendly.
