Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plumbing and Heating Apprentice. You will receive ‘on the job training’. You will work with Skilled Plumbers to gain the knowledge & experience required, working across several site to get the best exposure. You will be installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and heating systems.

Wage: £15,704 to £25,396.80 a year
Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)
Training course: Plumbing and domestic heating technician (level 3)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm. Includes 1 hour lunch.
40 hours a week
Possible start date: Monday 4 August
Duration: 4 years

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As a Plumbing and Heating Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of our fun and diverse team of tradespeople.

Install, maintain, and repair plumbing and heating systems, including hot water systems, boilers, and renewable energy solutions.
Conduct fault-finding and diagnostics on plumbing and heating systems.
Ensure all work complies with industry standards, building regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
Provide excellent customer service, liaising with clients to explain work carried out and resolve issues efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks.

Carry out commission and handover procedures and techniques on plumbing and domestic heating systems (cold water, hot water, central heating, sanitary appliances, and rainwater).
Install, test, and commission, electrical and electrical control systems applicable to plumbing and domestic heating systems.
Perform routine service, maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification procedures and techniques on the non-electrical components of plumbing and domestic heating systems.
Perform routine service, maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification procedures and techniques on electrical and electrical control systems applicable to plumbing and domestic heating systems including industry safe isolation procedures.
