Summary

The Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to the role of Finance Apprentice within the Financial Management team. The role will provide the necessary support to the Senior Management Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant to ensure the provision of a high quality financial advice and business support.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan

  • The apprentice will undertake Accounts or Finance Assistant Apprenticeship Level 2 which will be delivered by Middlesbrough College day release
  • At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying

More training information

  • Any applicants who already hold a level 2AAT or finance apprenticeship will undertake the Assistant Accountant Level 3 apprenticeship
  • People with a qualification in AAT at Level 3 or higher will not be eligible to apply for this apprenticeship

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • in 5 subjects - this must include English & Maths (grade (Grades 9-4;A*-C))
