Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Work with individual students or small groups of students in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
- Support students to understand instructions, promote independent learning, and encourage inclusion for all students.
- Assist the teacher in behavior management and help keep students on task.
- Support students' social and emotional well-being, reporting issues to the teacher as appropriate.
- Prepare and organize the learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing, displaying, and presenting student work and teaching materials as directed by the teacher.
- Record basic student data.
- Facilitate student learning through play.
- Organize and supervise games and activities.
- Assist in escorting students on educational visits.
- Invigilate exams and tests.
- Support students with eating, dressing, and hygiene needs as required, while encouraging independence.
- Supervise students during transitions between lessons and when entering and leaving the school site.
- Provide first aid, subject to appropriate training.

- Provide feedback to learners.
