Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

To complete the Onboarding function within the Mizuho CLM Team in a timely and  cost-efficient manner ensuring adherence to all SLA’s and procedures for MHI, London & EMEA Branches. To manage the control of AML/KYC documentation in line with Internal Compliance Procedures/FCA regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Work with the Front Office and other internal stakeholders to onboard clients across various product/business lines. 
  • Work closely with Clients to obtain the relevant KYC documentation in line with Mizuho internal procedures and regulatory requirements to help onboard the Clients.
  • Complete the addition of counterparty registration applications and initial client registration from workflow through to client management databases - in adherence to all Mizuho Compliance procedures
  • Perform client identification and verification on Financial Intermediaries.
  • Perform screening of clients using World check one.
  • Maintain high quality reference data across systems in conjunction with AML/KYC Client documentation verification.
  • Build relationships and business understanding with internal stakeholders in order to initiate and implement improvements to existing processes.
  • Support the team leaders with various projects and ad hoc tasks within Shared Services.
  • Ensure that all handoffs to other departments are understood and managed effectively
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders with a view to driving end to end process enhancements.

  • Service delivery: Capable of performing non- complex tasks to consistently high standards of client service, timeliness, accuracy and attention to detail. For example, ensures the timely preparation and accuracy of computerised cash position, valuation, and client reports; monitors and processes the timely allocation of investment income to client account; Ensures that client instructions relating to increasing or liquidating their investments are communicated and processed promptly. Manages own workload and adheres to agreed systems and processes. Meets required risk, regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Communication: Demonstrates high quality written and verbal communication skills with both clients and colleagues. Builds and maintains good relationships with clients and counterparties. Handles everyday situations and issues that arise within the context of their job role. Ensures transactions arising from corporate actions are correctly communicated and allocated to client accounts.
  • Team working & collaboration: Consistently supports colleagues and contributes towards making improvements and efficiencies. Aware of their role within the team, how their team fits within the business, and the impact of team decisions impacts on internal and external clients.
  • Ownership & Initiative: Takes ownership for delivery in their area of responsibility. Finds ways to progress and resolve non-complex issues, adopting alternative approaches where appropriate. Escalates decisions and issues swiftly when necessary.
  • Personal development: Participates proactively in planning and recording their development activities; responds positively to feedback from colleagues. Keeps up to date with changes in all areas of the role; shows commitment to the job and the industry.

Other requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 GCSE's at grades 4 and above including Math's and English, along with 2 A-levels at grades A*-C, or equivalent. Please make it clear you meet this criteria in your application. We are also looking for someone that can demonstrate: -Great organisational and time management skills -Excellent communication skills -Demonstrable ability to innovate, support change and problem solve -Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance -Computer literacy and skills in data manipulation / presentation -Customer-centric career experience and language skills are an asset, but not essential
