Summary
Burscough Football Club is looking to recruit casual sport coaches to work within our expansive community and grassroots coaching programmes. The coaching opportunities exist throughout the Ormskirk and surrounding areas delivering community and grassroots level sport coaching sessions in accordance with the standards.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- A strong interest in sports and the ability to support the delivery and organisation of multi-sports programmes
- Work alongside sport site staff to facilitate the delivery of organised sports programmes including working on facility maintenance/operational duties
- Develop links within the local community to enhance and support the growth plan for Burscough Football Club
- To ensure that all Burscough Football Club equipment is in good working order and assembled properly - to report to the Club any equipment that needs attention
- To ensure that the Burscough Football Club Codes of Conduct, safeguarding and risk assessments are adhered to at all times
- To maintain and keep up to date registers for all activities when required to do so on specific programmes/projects and coaching sessions/including registration forms collected and processed in line with Burscough Football Club data protection policy
- To attend training courses continuing professional development as required
- To adhere to National Governing Body (The FA) guidelines
- Assisting in the delivery of ad hoc non-sports programmes of Burscough Football Club
- Any other task which is deemed necessary by the Burscough Football Club as it continuously grows
You will be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, positive attitude, a flexible approach and confidence. Excellent communication skills will be vital for regular interaction with participants, staff, parents and external representatives whilst representing the Club in a professional manner at all times.

- Successful application of tactics and strategies to empower people from inactive and hard to reach populations to take up an active lifestyle
- Successful application of a range of approaches that bring about changes in attitudes and behaviours within target communities
- Supporting people within target communities to become involved in the preparation, planning and delivery of sport and active lifestyles
- Using local insight and customer-orientated marketing skills to attract high priority groups into existing leisure, parks and sport infrastructure
- Negotiation, lobbying and brokerage skills with local partners across public health, community development and anti social behaviour
- Demonstrate clear and effective communication techniques in order to give/receive information accurately and in a timely and positive manner
- Problem solving and effective decision making with regards the design and implementation of sport and physical activity programmes
- Writing successful funding bids to enable new, different or more opportunities to take place for sport and physical activity
- Managing disruptive behaviour of clients and customers before, during and after activities
- Managing and adapting personal behaviours to ensure provision is inclusive, customer-focused and accessible
- Building partnerships and developing meaningful relationships with local partners and stakeholders in sport and physical activity

The site is based at The Community Ground, Burscough Football Club, Bobby Langton Way, Burscough, Ormskirk but our programmes are mainly delivered across Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
