Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Due to recent growth we are looking for an Apprentice Web Developer to join our team. Image+ offers a range of digital services including Website Design and Development, Bespoke Web Applications, Mobile Apps and Search Engine Optimisation. Our Clients include StellantisYou, Fraikin, BHSF, Hammonds Furniture and The Wave to name a few.

Currently, we have a team of 17 full-time employees based in Coventry. The successful individual will benefit from a modern, smart office that overlooks the canal at the award-winning development Electric Wharf in Coventry.

Laravel Developer, who will work alongside our experienced developers to build and maintain web applications using the Laravel framework. Responsibilities will include: 

  • Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Collaborating with designers and other developers
  • Testing and debugging applications
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest Laravel trends and best practices A creative and innovative individual with a passion for web development.

Ideal skills:

  • A strong understanding of PHP and Laravel
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • A keen eye for detail
  • A desire to learn and grow
  • Previous experience advantageous

  • create simple software designs to effectively communicate understanding of the program
  • create analysis artefacts, such as use cases and/or user stories
  • build, manage and deploy code into the relevant environment
  • apply an appropriate software development approach according to the relevant paradigm (for example object oriented, event driven or procedural)
  • follow software designs and functional or technical specifications
  • follow testing frameworks and methodologies
  • follow company, team or client approaches to continuous integration, version and source control
  • communicate software solutions and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • apply algorithms, logic and data structures
  • interpret and implement a given design whist remaining compliant with security and maintainability requirements

Your training plan

Software Developer Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard:

The successful candidate will undertake a twenty-four month, nationally recognised qualification through TDM. This is a work-based learning programme which will require commitment to block weeks in an online training room once every quarter working towards the qualification along with weekly off the job training and monthly coaching sessions.

You will be required to demonstrate through the standard that you meet all competencies and behaviours, which will lead to the achievement of the qualification. These block weeks will take place virtually on TDMs virtual learning platform.

You will have a designated mentor in the workplace to support your learning and at the end of programme will be assessed via an external assessment body.

This is a Level 4 qualification.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
