Summary
Creating content for our social media channels and website with our marketing team. Help develop videos, images and articles to promote our message to an audience. You will also research our target audience, developing an idea according to a brief, supporting the production of the piece of content and keeping track of audience engagement.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Role
As a Content Creator Apprentice at Pompey in the Community, you will work alongside the football department as well as the Marketing and Fundraising team. You will produce engaging, dynamic content that showcases our football development pathway as well as other projects, events and the wider impact of our work. You will gain hands-on experience in creating high-quality content for a variety of digital platforms, including social media, website and video channels, helping to increase our reach and engagement with both local communities and the wider fan base of Portsmouth FC.
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation – produce multimedia content including photography, video, graphics and written pieces to support the football pathway and ongoing projects and initiatives at Pompey in the Community
- Social Media Management – collaborate with Marketing and Fundraising team to schedule and post content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook) developing a focus on Tiktok and X, ensuring regular updates and consistent messaging
- Video Production and Editing – capture video footage of events, programmes and participant stories, as well as editing short videos for social media and YouTube – with potential to develop a supporting Podcast
- Graphic Design – create promotional graphics, banners, flyers and images for online and print use, ensuring all designs align with the Pompey in the Community brand
- Copywriting – write engaging and informative captions, blog posts and website updates that highlight community stories, events and the impact of Pompey in the Community’s work
- Event Coverage – attend and cover events, including community outreach programmes, football matches and fundraisers, capturing content for use across multiple platforms
- Analytics and Reporting – assist in monitoring the performance of social media posts, website traffic, and other digital content, helping to analyse data to inform future content strategies

- Storyboard and outline script their ideas for content to be developed.

- Develop accessible written content for different platforms and devices.
- Apply best practice and inclusive language when creating content.
- Write and edit copy or scripts for use on different channels and platforms.
- Create or capture visuals and audio using standard packages and equipment.
- Source, obtain and prepare media assets for use; using industry standard packages to adapt and edit content.
- Use industry standard tools and content management systems to organise, structure and label content effectively, methodically and securely enabling efficient search and retrieval.
- Identify and recommend the platform/s or channel/s to use for the media campaign.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers, establishing and using professional contacts.
- Engage and respond with audiences through social media, adapting content to respond to evolving circumstances.
- Monitor user experience to ensure content is focused on maximising engagement.
- Analyse the differences between audiences using audience segmentation techniques and data.
- Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the content and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns.
- Use continuing professional development planning to support own current and future training and development needs.
- Operate effectively within the production workflow to meet production timelines.

At Havant & South Downs College we offer different methods of delivery either work based or day release dependent on the course. This will be discussed with you upon appointment.
