Here at Everards, we have a fantastic opportunity for someone who would like a new career working in a warehouse setting and are wanting to complete a Warehouse Apprenticeship.

Working between the hours of 6.00am – 4.30pm with varying shifts can include occasional Sat mornings between 9.00am–1.00pm on rota basis roughly every 7 weeks and the occasional Bank Holiday.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • You will be required to sort, pick, check and marshal onto 3rd party vehicles all products for loads as identified and instructed.
  • To use multiple types of manual handling equipment to load/unload goods vehicles
  • Carry out basic warehousing tasks such as order processing, picking, checking, recording and replenishment
  • You will need to be able to use a forklift truck - all training will be provided
  • Whilst adhering to company health and safety policy and completing a Warehouse Apprenticeship qualification

  • Conduct risk assessments within the working environment.
  • Apply safe working practices in line with associated health and safety legislation and company policy.
  • Receive products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.

Your training plan

  • The apprenticeship programme will be delivered with a blend of on-site and online meetings approximatley every 4 - 6 weeks and the employer will allow you time during your working week to complete the work set.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade A* - C / 9 - 4)
  • Maths (grade A* - C / 9 - 4)

Other requirements

Candidates must be able to drive as we are located in a rural location. You will be required to work in different weather conditions and some work outside.
