Summary
The Job of a spring maker is to set up the relevant machine and producing the job to the required quality level. Applicants will be trained and supported on the Job, hopefully becoming a new member of the team for the future.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- The job of a spring maker is to set up the relevant machine and producing the job to the required quality level.
- Selecting the correct: Tooling, Material and heat treatments.
- Understanding how the spring operates in application and altering its parameters to perform to the customers requirements.
- Learning to read a technical drawing and ensuring the spring meets the stated requirements to the tolerances stated.

GCSE in:

Other requirements
Spring Making is not easy, There can be very difficult Jobs, and very difficult days, from my experience there are many more good days than bad. You will have to be able to be honest with yourself, learn from mistakes and come back stronger. For many of our team, Spring Making has provided not just a job but a career, and job stability.

Norris Springs is a bespoke spring manufacturer supplying the Primary and Secondary economic sectors. This means every week will produce varied work, never doing the same job twice in a month. We are a family run company employing many time served employees with 10+ years with us, and some with 20+ years. We aim to have the highest skilled workforce to give us and edge in our market.
After this apprenticeship
- We are looking for the Apprentice to train up to the level of a fully skilled Spring Maker and become a future full-time member of our production team.
