Summary

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work 1-1 with one of our pupils in September 2024. This role will also include lunchtime supervisor duties.

Annual wage
£10,816 a year

This role is term time only and therefore the advertised salary is pro-rata based on the term-time only nature of this role.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

At Birchfield we refer to the ‘Teaching Team’, and as a member of that you will be fully supported in your day-to-day role. The person appointed would be expected to:

• Work collaboratively with the class teacher along with many other members of staff
• Be able to share experiences of good classroom practice
• Be able to support pupils across the whole curriculum
• Work 1-1 or with small groups
• Be able to work with children with SEN needs
• Display a range of attributes including personal organisation, initiative, enthusiasm and a caring nature
• Be flexible, adaptable, and be able to provide support and challenge

About this company

Birchfield Community Primary School and Pre-school was established in 1974. We are a co-educational school for pupils aged 2 – 11 with 412 pupils in our primary school and over 100 on the roll of our preschools. Our children know and remember more through the subject specific sequence of lessons within topics. We often hold themed days to enrich our curriculum further and parents/carers are welcome to join us for these!
