Summary

Kepak are looking to recruit an Yield and Planning Apprentice to join the team at our factory in Bodmin, Cornwall. You will be supported by a Mentor who will help and guide you through your apprenticeship and achieving your qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • End-to-End Process Learning: Gain hands-on experience and a deep understanding of each stage of the production process, so you can support on Yield reporting and planning of the operations
  • Processing documentation incoming and outgoing
  • Extracting of data from systems and prepare and present findings and analysis in reports and in person
  • Use of bespoke systems and other internal systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Regular reporting including fulfilling KPI’s
  • Work with functional colleagues to ensure the effective operation of the department through great operational planning
  • Presentation and Reporting: Extracting of data from systems and prepare and present findings and analysis in reports and in person
  • Operational Involvement: Learning each work area and role and the processes involved producing our products, so you can understand in detail, the Yield requirements of each role to support the effective tracking and reporting.
  • Data Management: Handle data entry, analysis, and reporting to help inform decision-making processes
  • Project Support: Contribute to various projects by providing up to date data and analysis
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, to support business operations and foster teamwork

  • Source and migrate data from already identified different sources.
  • Collect, format and save datasets.
  • Summarise and explain gathered data.
  • Blend data sets from multiple sources and present in format appropriate to the task.
  • Manipulate and link different data sets as required.
  • Use tools and techniques to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply basic statistical methods and algorithms to identify trends and patterns in data.
  • Apply cross checking techniques for identifying faults and data results for data project requirements.
  • Audit data results.
  • Demonstrate the different ways of communicating meaning from data in line with audience requirements.
  • Produce clear and consistent technical documentation using standard organisational templates.
  • Store, manage and distribute in compliance with data security standards and legislation.
  • Explain data and results to different audiences in a way that aids understanding.
  • Review own development needs.
  • Keep up to date with developments in technologies, trends and innovation using a range of sources.
  • Clean data i.e. remove duplicates, typos, duplicate entries, out of date data, parse data (e.g. format telephone numbers according to a national standard) and test and assess confidence in the data and its integrity.
  • Operate as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Prioritise within the context of a project.
