Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
The role will involve working with a friendly and committed team operating in a fast-paced environment and it will be based in the factory, where personal and food safety is paramount.
- Supporting the maintenance of production equipment.
- Routine maintenance and repairs, with the aim of ensuring the safe running of the factory.
- Involved in preventative maintenance schemes, breakdowns repairs, site services and improvement/capital projects.
- Working with the operators and managers to solve problems and implement changes to improve safety, quality, availability and reduce cost.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:

About this company
We are three Food Manufacturers in one company. We produce Jordans Cereal, Ryvita and Dorset Cereal products. We bake cereals and bars on site in our Biggleswade factory. The site has packing and processing equipment that require continuous improvement, maintenance and repair. The machinery on site ranges from basic mixing technology to state of the art high speed packing machines and from refrigeration systems to pick and place robots.
After this apprenticeship
After the apprenticeship you could be offered the opportunity to study and achieve further qualifications and become part of the maintenance engineers working on shift.
