Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

The apprenticeship candidates will need to be friendly, conscientious, work in a tidy and methodical manner with a positive attitude, have a keen eye for detail and to take pride in their work as this position requires a high standard of accuracy.

You will be using the latest CNC machinery, metrology equipment, tooling and software to manufacture precision components for markets such as aerospace, defence, medical, motorsport (F1), these components are made from various materials such as heat-treated stainless steel, titanium, bronze, aluminium, copper and specialist engineering plastics.
You will be Operating and setting CNC machines, Deburring, mechanical and visual inspection.

Whilst an apprentice with Rotamic Engineering and the support of Exeter college you will be trained for the requirements of operating and setting of our CNC machines, along with this you will be taught what and how to use various measuring equipment from plug gauges, verniers, micrometres and CMM’s. You will also work towards the Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard whilst studying at Exeter College.

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • Maths (grade 4/C)
  • English (grade 4/C)
