Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Job outline:- To provide an efficient and accurate service to the Finance department. Working in a busy team to ensure all client account managers are fully supported.

Tasks

  • Debt Chasing
  • Monitoring email accounts and responding to queries – daily
  • Loading & Sending sales invoices
  • Taking Payment on credit cards
  • Liaise with client account managers
  • Maintain email contacts
  • Maintain Product price list
  • Match Courier Shipments

Full training will be given in order to complete the above duties. You’ll receive ongoing support and guidance to help complete your AAT studies.

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan

AAT Level 2 Finance/Accounts Assistant, which includes:

  • You'll have AAT exams including bookkeeping controls, bookkeeping transactions, and more
  • Modules covering Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours in Finance
  • You'll have a personal tutor to guide you through your training
  • You will attend 1:1 sessions with your tutor every 2/3 weeks
  • End Point Assessment (online)
  • Occasional group classes with other learners
  • Access to MyAAT for learning material
  • AAT Level 2 certificate

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C or above)
  • Maths (grade 4/C or above)
